This video works through an example of applying the Mean Value Theorem for Integrals on the function f(x)=sec^2(x) and determines the c-value guaranteed by the theorem as well as f(c). In this example, there are two c values in the interval. The area of the region between the graph of the function and the x-axis can be related to a rectangle whose height is the average value of the function and whose width is the width of the closed interval for the function, [-pi/4, pi/4].
