President Moon Jae-in has promised free COVID-19 vaccines for all South Koreans. Inoculations will begin in February. In his New Year address, the President also declared that 2021 will be a year of recovery and a leap towards becoming a leading nation. On North Korea, Mr Moon said he was open to dialogue and pledged to continue efforts to bring peace and prosperity not just for the Korean peninsula, but also for the region and the international community.
