November 2021 The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra pays tribute at the (1st) Memorial of the LIfe of Phil Schaap. Among other songs, they perform TOPSY, which was written by Phil's mentor, #EddieDurham (for Count Basie's Orchestra in 1938).
It was also a BIG hit in 1958 for drummer Cozy Cole as TOPSY Part One and as a latin version "TOPSY Part Two".
Manhattan Transfer released it with vocals in 1970 on their SWING CD.
It was released as a Disco version on the MECO (Star Wars) vinyl (rare to find) a year before the release of the first STAR WARS film.
In 2012 TOPSY was released by S.Mos (Buster Rhymes) as a rap version, with his lyrics.
