In November of 1972, a symposium on extraterrestrial life was held at Boston University. The panelists included Carl Sagan, George Wald, Philip Morrison, and Richard Berendzen. The generally accepted conclusion of the symposium was that there are other advanced civilizations in existence, whether they be known or unknown to man.

The discussion of extraterrestrial life is one that has been had over and over again for decades. Experts from all parts of the world, and throughout several years, have wondered if we are alone in the Universe. The idea of a life form potentially foreign to mankind is now more widely accepted than the concept of humans being the only advanced civilization in the Universe.
