We caught up with music mogul Clarence Avant, known as the Black Godfather, in Beverly Hills a few months ago in happier times and had a few laughs as he showed of the vintage watch that his wife and daughter gave him as a gift

Unfortunately, just this morning, Avant's wife of 54 years, Jacqueline, was shot and killed in an alleged home invasion at their Beverly Hills home in the early morning hrs according to the Beverly Hills Police Department

Clarence and Jacqueline are parents to Nicole Avant, who is married to Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos.
