PEONY flowers! Peonies are one of my top favorite flowers and favorite plants in my home garden. In this video I show you how to plant 3 varieties of peonies ( Mix variety, Karl Rosenfield and the Sarah Bernhardt ) from bare roots. I show you exactly what peony bare root looks like ; each peony root has three main parts – the roots, the crown, and the eyes. Since most dormant peony roots are dry after months off cool storage, I show you how to rehydrate them by soaking them in warm/room-temperature water, giving them a kick start in getting established in the soil.Then I show you exactly how and where to place the rehydrated roots ( "eyes" facing upward) inside the pots.
