The Ten Preludes, Op. 33 of the Ukrainian late romantic Sergei Bortkiewicz were published in 1926. The Prelude No. 8 takes the form of a sensual waltz; No. 9 is reminiscent of a barcarolle on a quiet pond in summer; and No. 10 has a declamatory character such as might be found in a Tchaikovsky ballet. Comments welcome.
