To reach the Gergeti Holy Trinity Church near the village of Stepantsminda in Georgia, you need to take on the Old Military Road that runs for 212 kilometres between Tbilisi (Georgia) and Vladikavkaz (Russia) which follows the traditional route used by invaders and traders throughout the ages.

The Gergeti Holy Trinity Church is at an elevation of 2170m, under Mount Kazbek (5000m). It was built in the 14th century by an unknown architect.

Its isolated location on top of a steep mountain surrounded by the vastness of nature has made it a symbol for Georgia
