Otaru is a harbour city in Hokkaido. We have great seafood, wonderful wines. great bunch of know Ramen places, a lot of places to see.
We are going to open an art complex with many functions around art: Everything is an art as long as you are serious about your life and try to be creative to survive as well as enjoy life. Art as Life! Northly is consist of a combination of these arts: HiDeroid ceramic studio/L’estérance French vegan restaurant/Tono Bacca gallery Café/ accommodation/ artist in residence.
We bought an old house and spend 2years renovating it all with our hands. used existing material from the old house to give the house a second life. Our challenge is to be sustainable with real means. not just those propagandas of big companies. We did not throw almost anything from the old house to renovate into our complex. we want to be real and creative with no-frill.
We want you to come over and experience the art of living in Northern Japan here in Northly.
