Islamist militants tied to the Taliban have launched increasing attacks along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, many targeting the police. One outpost in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has seen four major attacks in recent months, and numerous cases of sniper fire, according to officials. The province's police force has fought Islamist militants for years, but many feel that they are now more than ever the primary target.
