The following logical argument is presented as evidence against the Trinity: There is one God, the Father is God, and the Son is not the Father, therefore the Son is not God. Although many Trinitarians will likely respond saying that God refers to an essence rather than a person, the scriptures consistently portray God as a person. Thus, the One God is a person, not an essence.
