Ischigualasto is a provincial park located in the northwest of Argentina, in the province of San Juan. It is also known as the Valley of the Moon, due to its unique landscape, which resembles a lunar landscape.
The park is famous for its geology, as it contains rocks that date back to the Triassic period, around 250 million years ago. These rocks have preserved fossils of early dinosaurs, as well as other ancient reptiles and plants, making it an important site for the study of the evolution of life on Earth.
Ischigualasto was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000, and it is a popular tourist destination for those interested in geology and paleontology. Visitors can take guided tours of the park and view the various rock formations and fossil sites, as well as enjoy the natural scenery and wildlife of the area.
