Ella is one of the BEST places in all of Sri Lanka! We love this small tourist town so much and share our favourite place to stay, eat, and visit in this video. If you are traveling to Ella and want to know how best to spend one day here, then you've come to the right video. We might be most excited to show you where we are staying in Ella! There is something so magical about waking up in the hills of Ella to the monkeys and birds that makes us feel so at peace.
During our one day in Ella we made the short journey to the famous Nine Arch Bridge after a glorious morning at Idyll Homestay. Nine Arch Bridge is another place in Ella that feels like it's out of a storybook (maybe all of Ella feels like that). This iconic bridge is one of the most well-known and photographed places in all of Sri Lanka. The incredible workmanship of the bridge is beautifully placed among the luscious plant life that can be found everywhere in Sri Lanka, making is so easy to photograph.
Then it was time to head to One Love to try Sri Lankan food! Sri Lankan rice and curry is one of kind, and we tried some really delicious varieties of curry during our lunch meal, followed by some Sri Lankan lamprais which we had never had before. Sri Lankan food is incredible, and we highly recommend you visit this restaurant in Ella if you want to try some authentic Sri Lankan food!
Another thing you have to do on your visit to Ella is see the famous Ella tea plantations. You can go on a tea plantation tour in Ella, but our preference was to hop on Wanda and explore the tea plantations via scooter. And of course, you can't miss Ravana falls when you're in Ella! But seriously, beware of the monkeys!
