Method:
Green paste for Chicken Marination:
3 - 4 green chilies (less spicy)
20 - 25 garlic cloves
3 - 4-inch ginger
6 - 7 curry leaves and pudina leaves
1/2 cup water
Chicken Marination:
750 grams - 1 kg of chicken pieces
1 - 2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp malvani masala
green paste
1 tsp salt
Curry Paste:
2 tsp
1 - large onion
4 - 5 garlic cloves
4 - 5 black pepper
1-inch ginger
1 tsp poppy seeds
1 tsp coriander seeds
4 - 5 cloves
1-inch cinnamon
1 cup dry coconut (you can use 1/2 cup dry coconut and 1/2 cup fresh grated coconut)
1 bay leaf
1/2 glass water
Chicken Curry:
2 tsp oil
2 tsp coconut oil
2 tsp ghee
2 bay leaf
1-star Annies
1-inch cinnamon
4 - 5 cloves
2 glass hot boiling water
2 - 3 tsp malvani masala
marinated chicken
salt as per taste
Method:
1. Marinate Chicken - Combine together chicken, green paste, turmeric powder, malvani masala and salt in a bowl, and set aside for 30 min - 1 hr.
2. Make curry masala - In a Kadai add oil, roast onion, garlic, and ginger until it turns golden brown. Add cinnamon, bay leaf, coriander seeds, cloves, and black pepper. Add dry coconut and roast until it turns brown in color. By adding all masala together add poppy seeds and 1tsp malvani masala. Cooldown the mixture and add half glass of water and make a fine paste.
3. In a curry vessel, add oil, coconut oil, ghee. Add bay lid, star anise, cloves. Add chopped onion saute until onion turns a golden color. Add malvani masala give a mix. Now add marinated chicken and mix well. Close the lid and place water on top of the lid and chicken cook for 2 minutes. Remove chicken and add oil, saute onion, and coconut masala until the masala turns light brown or oil gets separated. Now add chicken and cook it in the masala for 2 mins. Add 2 glass of hot boiling water in chicken. Reduce or increase the quantity of water as per your need. Cook chicken until it softens. The oil will get separated on top of vessel.
Serve Malvani Chicken with vade ([ Ссылка ]), Rice or Bhakri.
