This video aims to make a good but not necessary very scientific comparison between flatwound and roundwound bass strings. The strings compared are LaBella 760FL flatwounds and Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky roundwounds. Both sets are a couple of months old, so they are not brand new. The bass used is an all stock Tokai Hard Puncher p-bass with volume and tone controls all the way up. It is recorded through a Radial JDI direct box. No compression or EQ has been added to the sound of the bass. There is a transcription of the first groove in the video (plus a lot of other transcriptions) on my site, see address below.
