Wilson Tune Pro Unboxing by Solow Sports.
The all-new Baiardo Tune Pro is a groundbreaking racquet diagnostics machine in many ways.
STRING BED STIFFNESS
• Specific measurement for string bed stiffness adds validity for shop owners recommending re-stringing jobs
WEIGHT, BALANCE & SWING WEIGHT
• Simultaneously measures weight and balance in one measurement
• Gives shops ability to tune racquets for additional revenue stream
• Shops can consolidate scale, balance board and swing weight devices into one machine with increased speed and efficiency
VERTICAL BENDING & HORIZONTAL BENDING
• First machine to measure vertical bending for tennis racquet
• Shops can measure old, worn-out racquets to encourage new racquet purchases.
CALIBRATION
• Easily calibrate weight, balance, swing weight and stiffness to ensure accuracy and repeatability
• Only one machine needs to be calibrated and can be adjusted to shop’s standard.
TUNING MODE
• First machine to offer this feature for all major racquet sports: tennis, badminton, squash, racquetball, padel, pickleball & platform
• No more guess and check required for tuning— speed and efficiency significantly increase without advanced training
• No experienced technician required to customize racquet specs
WHAT IS VERTICAL BENDING AND WHY DO WE USE IT?
RA measures vertical bending, which is the deflection of the racquet at either side of the frame (3 or 9 o’clock) when laid sideways on the Baiardo. This test measures racquet stiffness for players who generate extra spin with a steeper contact angle. A higher RA value indicates greater stiffness, which is typical for a traditional horizontal swing path. A lower RA value indicates greater flexibility, which generates more spin for a modern, vertical swing path.
WHAT IS STRING BED STIFFNESS AND WHY DO WE USE IT?
String bed stiffness measures the deformation of a string bed via Racquet Analysis (RA), which measures the force required to bend a racquet. Higher RA values indicate a stiffer string bed, whereas lower RA values indicate a looser string bed. This produces more deformation of the string bed during contact. Please consult with your clients to determine a string bed stiffness that fits their playing style. String bed stiffness can reveal tension loss throughout the life of a string bed. RA values will decrease over time and through use. It is recommended to measure your clients’ racquet frequently to determine the best time for restringing to maintain optimal performance.
THE MORE YOU KNOW WHAT IS SWING WEIGHT AND WHY DO WE USE IT?
Swing weight is the weight you feel when swinging a racquet. It is a dynamic measurement captured in the rotating swing weight clamp in either kg-cm² or oz-in.² The higher the swing weight value, the more “plow through” (momentum) the racquet will exert on the ball during contact, creating more power as a result. A lower swing weight value will reduce “plow through” (momentum) exerted on the ball but will increase the racquet’s maneuverability.
WHAT IS HORIZONTAL BENDING AND WHY DO WE USE IT?
RA measures horizontal bending, which is the deflection of the racquet at the tip of the frame (12 o’clock) when laid flat on the Baiardo. The higher the RA value, the stiffer the racquet will feel on contact. As RA values decrease, the racquet will feel more flexible and forgiving.
WHAT IS FACE DEFLECTION AND WHY DO WE USE IT?
RA measures face deflection, which is the deformation of a paddle face. Higher RA values indicate a stiffer paddle faces, which produce less deformation during contact. Lower RA values indicate more paddle face deformation upon contact, which provides players a softer feel when hitting the ball.
