From July 10, the payment made from the UPA will be an additional charge
All payments made through this platform were free till now
Last year, the Central Government introduced the UPA Payment Service, to promote cashless economy. The purpose of this payment system was to exchange money between the two bank accounts only through mobile. Many banks present their own UPI app by following the government's instructions. With this help, the bank account holder can pay any bill and also give the goods money to the shopkeeper. The good thing was that all the payments made through this platform were free till now. And many users appreciated this move of the government. But now the news is that from July 10, the fee will be charged for the payment of the UPI.
Indeed, HDFC Bank has sent e-mails to some customers. It reads, "From July 10, the payment made to the UPA will be an additional charge." Charges of Rs 3 to Rs 1 to 25,000 will be charged. 25,001 to 100, Rs 5 lakh (additional charge) will be charged for paying up to Rs. This email has been shared by the dynamic user of the dynamic name . Most reducing users have given negative feedback on this.
Some members of the Gadgets 360 team have also received this mail from HDFC. If banks charge for a small amount of time, then people will have to press for cash once again. So far the email has been sent on behalf of HDFC Bank only. In such a situation, it is not clear whether this amount is being taken just by HDFC or other banks will be on the same track. We sought feedback from NPCI and HDFC on the new UPA fee.
On this, NPCI chief operating officer Dilip Asbe came in: We have made the United Payment Interface available to every bank. There is no information yet from any bank to charge the UPI payment. But if the bank wishes, then the fee can be charged between the two account holders for the UPI transaction. But there will be no extra charge for making shops through this platform.
It is clearly written in NPCI's guideline . "Since the launch, the UPA has been integrated into Ola, Samsung Pay and many other products. In this way, the user has got another option to pay without cash. In the meantime it was reported that the UPA-based payment service is going to start on WhatsApp, and in such a situation, the government's motive could not be met by charging additional charges on these transactions. The UPI has been integrated into Samsung Pay and many other products. In this way, the user has got another option to pay without cash. In the meantime it was reported that the UPA-based payment service is going to start on WhatsApp even on the WhatsApp. In such a situation, the additional excise duty on these transactions will not be achieved.
