This video shows a front lower ball joint failure on W210 chassis, after only 45kmi on factory ball joint. To check the lower ball joints, raise the car off the ground and lift the wheel/tire by hand vertically up & down. There should be ZERO movement. You can see in this video there is several millimeters of play in the joint, this is clearly defective and requires immediate replacement. Although the W211 is a different design, the procedure to check the lower ball joints is the same. If there is any perceptible play / movement, replace the balljoints in pairs (left & right side).
