'I'm hoping that in reviving these hidden histories, and these new alternative histories of war, that people will begin to see the child as an important voice in conflict'.

Dr Emma Butcher, AHRC and #BBCRadio3 New Generation Thinker, explains her research on #children in #war and how the child's voice offers vital insights into the #conflict around them.

Emma, who has been awarded a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship at the University of Leicester, is one of ten academics on the scheme who will be working alongside the #BBC to help create programmes that will bring this research to a wider audience.
