The need for a software bill of materials (SBOM) is widely agreed upon, and there are efforts underway on how to create and provide a SBOM. This then begs the question what do asset owners and vendors with a SBOM?
Allan Friedman of NTIA introduces what a SBOM is any how they are created. Then, at 6:00, he leads a discussion with a vendor (David Foose of Emerson) and an asset owner (Kaleem Khawaja of BP) on how they would use a SBOM and some of the challenges in using a SBOM.
