Iran’s Minister of Health, Dr. Seyed Hassan Hashemi, toured the AVAPEZESHK manufacturing facility in Ashtian Industrial Park at May 1, 2015 to see first-hand the operations of a highly successful Iranian company which continues to develop country self-sufficiency in medical equipment. The Minister was accompanied by the Governor General, local MP and the chancellor of Arak University of Medical Sciences.
The company invested around 7.5 million dollars for the new lines of automated production, which will allow manufacturing of eight disposable medical equipment for the first time in Iran. These products include: syringe with safety guard, auto-disable syringe, insulin pen needle, angiography introducer needle, scalp vein, blood collection lancet and blood collection set.
Besides exploiting the existing infrastructures in AVA premises, the clean room expands from initially 4,500 square meters to 6,000 square meters. This area is devoted to production of blood collection set which includes blood collection tube, blood collection needle and holder.
“I was very pleased to have the opportunity to visit AVA and to witness achievements that have yet to come!” said the Minister “Though AVA is a highly successful manufacturer of a wide range of quality products but it is urgently necessary to broaden the range of products with IV catheter and some more which are imported at present” added the Minister “I am confident that every new quality product by AVA, reduces red carpet for imported ones and also the export-increase can open up new opportunities for international investments” .
At the end, the Minister suggested that location matters as well as manufacturing collaborations between private sectors and AVA, as a parent company, can contribute to a great tendency in Ashtian Industrial Park to develop into a Health Industrial Park.
