Billions of years ago, Venus was a very different planet than the scorching inferno we know today. It's fascinating to imagine that back then, Venus may have had a stable climate with gentle temperatures and vast oceans of liquid water. These conditions could have potentially supported life, much like early Earth did. For around 2 to 3 billion years, Venus enjoyed a balanced greenhouse effect that created a temperate environment. However, something changed dramatically - a runaway greenhouse effect took hold. The oceans evaporated and Venus became enveloped in a thick toxic atmosphere of carbon dioxide. This transformation turned Venus from a potential cradle of life into the hostile world we see now.
