The original population of North Africa was black, just like the rest of Africa. The people we're talking about were called Berbers or Moors in the Middle Ages, but they called themselves Amazigh, which means Nobles or Freemen.

In our recent video about the history of north Africa, we were saddled with multiple comments from present-day "white" Berbers claiming to be the original inhabitants of north Africa. They even claimed the ethnic label Amazigh did not have a direct reference to the original black people of north Africa.
