What is a smart city? How does ADB make smart cities? And how do smart solutions contribute to a vision of livable cities? Small steps such as digitizing land records, collecting and making use of urban data, as well as embedding technologies into a city’s urban planning can lead to big and substantial changes. This explainer video features the work of ADB's Technical Assistance on Promoting Smart Systems (TA 9170-REG) which explored how building smart systems, one step at a time, can redefine pro-poor urban development and improve quality of life in select cities in Asia and the Pacific.
