The Smartest Charger in the world?
This video shows how OptiMate 4 is able to charge a battery better than another "smart charger".
This battery rests at a low voltage so is not always in peak condition. After the charger indicates "green" the battery is still losing voltage at a rate of 0.01V every few seconds.
It detects the volt drop and when the battery drops to 12.8V re engages charging, this is the claimed "pulse maintenance". In fact the battery is not in 100% condition. If the battery is faulty and unable to hold voltage, you won't know about it until you break down!
After OptiMate 4 has used its advanced absorption charging program, the battery rests at a much higher voltage (12.9V) and does not lose voltage as it did before.
OptiMate has charged this battery more fully than the the other charger and will be maintained at 13.6V with it's unique 1/2 hourly maintenance program. Every half hour, otpimate stops maintenance and check the battery for excessive volt drop. If the battery cannot hold voltage, the OptiMate will show the yellow or red led, depending on how many volts have been lost.
OptiMate 4 is suitable for batteries up to 75Ah. See www.moto-tech.com.au
