"I think that nostalgia is, from what I feel here in this place, this home - the residents use it in a positive way. I mean, they did so much in their lives, they had a full life and now they sit relaxed, they are doing things like all kind of hobbies and when we sit and talk they talk with a lot of nostalgia about the past."

LEAD IN:
A collection of everyday items is bringing the past to back to life for a group of Israeli senior citizens.
Wind up gramophones, old radios, typewriters and hand-written letters are just some of the cherished items in the exhibition at a Jerusalem retirement home.
STORYLINE:
It may be old, but the music from this antique music box can bring back a lot of memories.
The perforated music disc, twinkling away at a gentle tune, is just one of the dozens of nostalgic bits and pieces gathered together for an exhibition steeped in nostalgia.
A group of senior citizens at a retirement home in Jerusalem put together a display of rare items that were kept and cherished over the years.
It's their way of celebrating and preserving a precious past.
There are typewriters, hot irons, sewing machines and family portraits - objects once common, but nearly all made redundant by modern technology.
For Ronit Yosha, Marketing Director, at "Classic Senior Residences" where the exhibition is on show, this kind of nostalgia is positive therapy:
