Juleen R. Zierath is a Professor of Clinical Integrative Physiology at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, and Professor and Executive Director at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research at University of Copenhagen, Sweden.
Prof. Zierath performs translational #research to delineate mechanisms for #type2diabetes pathogenesis. Her current work is focused on the interaction between #circadianrhythm and #exercise training and the control of metabolism in #diabetes and #obesity.
During the @EASDiabetes Annual Meeting 2024 in Madrid - #EASD2024, Juleen R. Zierath was awarded the EASD - @Novonordiskfoundation Diabetes Prize for Excellence to recognise her outstanding achievements in research which has led to significant advances in the understanding, prevention or treatment of diabetes or its complications.
