Never a Bystander, a 30-minute documentary, tells the story of Irene Butter, a remarkable woman who chose to be a survivor of the Holocaust—not a victim. A contemporary of Anne Frank who survived a concentration camp, Dr. Butter has shared her story in schools for decades, and by her example, shown how it is possible to live a full and engaged life after surviving trauma. She lives her conviction that as activists, not bystanders, we can each make a positive impact in our own small corner of the world.
