Just starting out on your #DentalFresh journey? The thought of brushing your pup’s teeth may have you wondering where to start 🫣 Don’t worry, we got you! First, you need the right tools so let’s figure out what brush your pup would be most comfortable with. Generally, we suggest our finger brush for small/medium dogs and our Triflex for bigger dogs to help get to the hard-to-reach teeth.
Now that you have your 🪥 in hand, let’s get your pup comfortable with brushing their teeth for the first time. Start by running your fingers along their mouth and teeth. Once they’re okay with that it is time to introduce them to the toothbrush. Let them sniff it, lick it, bite it, whatever they need to do to feel safe around it.
Time for the taste test 😋 Before brushing for the first time put some of our Dental Gel on your finger and let them taste it (that’s right, it’s peanut butter flavored 🥜) Once you start using the toothbrush and gel it may be messy at first, just remember to take it slow and go at a pace you and your dog are comfortable with, it get easier over time for both of you, we promise!
