In this Let's Build video I put together the laser cut steam locomotive kit from Robotime which is a sub brand of the Chinese company ROKR.

This kit from their range is titled Prime Steam Express, and according to the box, is a 1:80 scale model of an ‘ancient’ steam train in the 1860s. It is a static only model and as it states on the box, can be made without glue, as the parts slot together. That said, you will see me using glue during the video to provide some extra support, along with a number of tools which made my life a lot easier. I will talk more about that at the end of the video when I give my thought on the kit as a whole.

The instructions state that this kit should take 4 to 5 hours to put together, however, I completed the build at a sedate pace on and off over 3 days.

Within the box you get 5 sheets of laser cut plywood parts, along with a large instruction sheet and a small sheet of sand paper for cleaning up the parts.

The parts are individually numbered and easy to locate and some parts have extra detailing on them which enhances the overall look of the model. Rokr can also be commended for adding some extra spare parts on the sheets, should you accidentally break some of the more fragile pieces or lose some of the smaller ones.
