Thoughts:
I feel Visceral Games won't disappoint and that although they are adding the optional Co-Op feature it will still be just as scary as before. The gameplay does seem more "action than horror" which could possibly be a portion of the game. When they enter the mining facility full of Necromorphs and an automated gigantic drill I couldn't help but think of a death montage that I'll be having on that part. Anyways, I wouldn't start comparing it to Lost Planet or other action shooters just yet because I'm sure Visceral Games has plenty up there sleeve.

Dead Space 3 is the sequel to Dead Space and Dead Space 2 from Visceral Games and Electronic Arts. Dead Space 3 was confirmed on May 29, 2012 by EA. Dead Space 3 begins as Isaac Clarke crash lands onto Tau Volantis, "an icy planet where Isaac Clarke has to wade through white-out blizzard conditions." Ellie and others are alive in a waystation on the planet. Dead Space 3 will have drop-in, drop-out co-op. Isaac Clarke will, if players choose, fight alongside a man with a gnarly scar on his face, an engineering RIG of his own, and glowing red eyes peering from his helmet. During single-player, this character acts as Isaac's guide. Jennifer is a survivor in the outpost on Tau Volantis.
Isaac's companion and guide will also play his cooperative partner. This character has a scar on his face and an engineering RIG. This character may be John Carver.
