This is our first look review with the newly announced Canon XF605, an all-in-one camcorder with all you need to conduct newsgathering and corporate filmmaking.
Shooting up to UHD 4K in 10-bit 422 at 25p, you can expect all the resolution and picture quality you need to meet broadcast standard footage. It even has up to 120fps slow motion in Full HD for those who would like to add a little bit more creativity to their shooting portfolio.
With all the Canon picture profiles to choose from, all the way from your standard BT.709 profiles to C-Log 2 & C-Log 3 you can place this alongside other can Canon video/cinema cameras whilst maintaining that beautiful 'Canon look'.
It has a 15x Zoom lens built into it which ranges from 25.5mm to 382.5mm (35mm equivalent). Built in ND filters also add to that versatility and user control when filming in bright conditions. To make matters even easier when shooting with a wide open aperture/iris, this camera also benefits from the Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology to make keeping focus on a subject an simple task.
