With Mullet and Crabs being scarce, I need to find other live bait options. Although, Pinfish is the better and easier bait, a good option if you are up to the task is Yellowfin Mojarra. They are an extremely shiny/flashy bait with a lot less armor than Pinfish. I think they are a very tasty treat to predators. Unfortunately, catching them is not easy. They are very skittish and have excellent senses. When they run, they don't stop and are out of there. Their camouflage makes them hard to see until you are very close and by that time they have taken off. I specifically bought my 7' net because of them. Supposedly, you can catch them with hook and line but have never tried. They are #5 on the Tarpon bait options.
