An online seminar was held on Wednesday, 22 April 2020 at 4PM(Bahrain Time) to hear and discuss the Cardiac Presentations and Management of COVID-19 from a member of the BSH Apollo Heart Center’s medical advisory board, Dr. Amer Ardati. Joined by Dr. Abdul Azeez Mohammed, Specialist Interventional Cardiologist.
Dr. Amer Ardati is a consultant interventional cardiologist practicing at the University of Illinois, in Chicago and is part of a team overseeing the treatment and care of COVID-19 patients. Dr. Amer will speak about the unique cardiac presentations associated with COVID-19 which was discovered early on during the spread of the disease and has helped lead to better diagnosis and treatment of patients suffering from this disease. In March 2020, Dr. Amer co-authored an article in Circulation: Cardiovascular Quality and Outcomes entitled Be Prepared, on the impact the COVID-19 epidemic may have on cardiac care and measures needed to reduce the spread of infection. He has been working within his hospital network to ensure continuity of cardiac care to its patients during this time of increased social distancing and precautionary measures.
Dr. Abdul Azeez Mohammed, specialist interventional cardiologist here at the BSH Apollo Heart Center in the Kingdom of Bahrain, will join Dr. Amer to answer your questions and discuss on-going developments in case management and the impacts COVID-19 has had on cardiac care practices.
