In trying to help older students find their Lakota/Dakota heritage, I became a Lakota/Dakota language and culture teacher. On this day, I took four high school students to the Lakȟól’iyapi Wahóȟpi - Lakota Immersion Nest, at Sitting Bull College in Ft Yates, ND.
I was hoping to inspire the older ones to learn and showed them the little ones for inspiration... did it work? YES it did!
