Sheen Patel (CivE, Year 3) welcomed us into the lab to observe his experiment measuring the compressive strength of a 50 mm mortar cube.
This is part of a larger project measuring the strength contribution of natural pozzolans replacing a part of cement mixture to reduce carbon emissions from concrete. Sheen is doing research under the supervision of Prof. Doug Hooton.
