India has been cleared to build its first two nuclear-powered attack submarines, also known as nuclear sharks. These submarines are described as the true arbiters of sea power, with nearly limitless endurance, speed, and stealth. China currently has several of these submarines, while India has none. The Indian government has now sanctioned nearly 40,000 crore rupees for the development and construction of two made-in-India nuclear sharks.
