Welcome to NorthWest Shopping Centre, part of the Westgate Town Centre, located in the North West of Auckland and approximately 18km from the CBD.

Filmed during Level 3 Lockdown on a Sunday afternoon the shops are largely closed or only operating with contactless service. Customers generally need to wait outside to be served.

Suburbs surrounding Westgate include Massey, West Harbour and Whenuapai.

This walk begins on Fernhill Drive near Ballentynes Fashion Central and into the centre itself via Westgate Access Road. After walking past many of the shops we end up at the north entrance at Fred Taylor Drive.

The total distance is about 700m and was recorded on a spring afternoon in 2021 with a temperature of 19°C. The Covid alert level was at Level 3 - so fairly reduced traffic/activity levels, increased mask wearing, contactless services etc.
