"O Little Town of Bethlehem" was written as a poem by Phillips Brooks (1835-1893), while serving as the Rector of the Holy Trinity Church in Philadelphia. He was inspired to write it after visiting Bethlehem in 1865, and wrote the poem for his church. His church organist, Lewis Redner, composed the music, called "St. Louis", and it is the tune most frequently used for this carol in the United States. The SATB Choirparts are on this channel. The audio was recorded from a practice session for a Christmas ecumenical religious service
