This is my version of the famous Mexican dish Milanesa de Res which means breaded beef.
If you would like to make it, here is my recipe:
Ingredients:
6 sandwich steaks
2 beaten eggs
1 1/2 cups panko bread crumbs
1 garlic clove minced
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
Vegetable oil for frying
Directions:
Beat the 2 eggs in a bowl, big enough to dip the steak into. Add the minced garlic and pepper.
Put the breadcrumbs on a plate mix in the salt.
Take one piece of steak, dip it in the egg mixture and then the breadcrumbs, making sure to coat both sides. Place this on another plate until you have done all the pieces.
Pour about a 1/2 inch of the oil into the frying pan and turn to medium high.
When the oil is hot enough put in a few steaks at a time, depending on how many pieces you can do at a time without overcrowding. I just did 2 at a time.
Cook the steak on medium heat for about 3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown.
Remove the steak from the pan and place on another plate covered in paper towel to soak up the excess grease. Continue until you have cooked all the steak .
That is it - your Milanesa de Res is all ready to eat!
I served it with some Mexican Rice & Caesar Salad, a few slices of avocado and warm corn tortillas! It was so good!
