It was an evening to forget for Motherwell against Sligo Rovers.
The Irish side pulled off a shock result at Fir Park in the Europa Conference League qualifier last night. Former Hearts striker Aidan Keena capitalised on a Bevis Mugabi mistake to give the Irish side a one goal lead ahead of the return leg in the Sligo next Thursday night.
Motherwell enjoyed lots of possession but they couldn't breakdown a resolute visiting defence to leave the 'Well fans despondent as they headed home.
But before the game, it was a completely different story. There was a huge buzz around the Lanarkshire town as the glamour of European football - albeit a qualifier - caught the hearts and minds of the locals.
Motherwell Football Club is renowned for the exemplary work they do within the community. A section of the Steelmen support organised a 'corteo' march through the town to Fir Park with over 1,000 fans joining in to create a fantastic pre-match atmosphere.
