Hear the bells of the Basilica of San Albino in Mesilla, New Mexico. The Basilica of San Albino is located on the north end of the Old Mesilla Plaza, near the Taylor-Mesilla Historic Property. The church bells were commissioned and installed by 1877. The bells of San Albino are rung in “tunes.” The melody the bells ring is dependent on the event – wedding, funeral, vespers, and marking of time. They were also used to warn the community of an emergency.
