------------------------------------------------------
The original 1.7Ah DEWALT PowerStack battery was small and marketed as a powerhouse for compact tools. When the DEWALT 5Ah PowerStack came out it was much larger and designed as a powerhouse battery for larger tools. In a way, the DEWALT 5AH PowerStack is a small battery for the grinders and circular saws most will use it on. But for people who want power and longer runtimes on smaller tools, will it help?
The goal of this video was not to test the speeds of each battery sinking the lags. The goal was to find a balance between the amp draw of this DEWALT Impact Driver and the output of DEWALT batteries. This will allow you to make a choice in what battery you want to use based on voltage sag and battery size/weight.
As we saw with the DEWALT 8" Pruner, battery size did help the voltage, but we easily powered the tool and still had cutouts. In the case of an impact driver, and we assume an impact wrench, the less voltage sag will equate to more power. More power means faster job completion and money. All you have to do is choose how much weight you want to carry because the "big power" starts at the 5Ah PowerStack and stays even up through the larger Ah batteries and into the Flexvolt line.
