14th February 2013, Valentine's day, V day, the day people in Penzance, Cornwall UK joined millions all across the globe and danced to bring about an end to violence against women and girls. Inspired by the work of seasoned campaigner, author, performer and broadcaster Eve Ensler, 1 BILLION RISING is a global campaign shedding light on the fact that unless there is real change, 1 billion women and girls alive today will suffer rape or other violence in their lifetime.
