Bathukamma is a colourful floral festival celebrated by the women of Telangana.
Bathukamma is the regional festival celebrated across Telangana region on Bhadrapada Amavasya.
People of Telangana believe that Bathukamma represents the cultural spirit of Telangana. On this day, Hindu women formed Bathukamma in the form of gopuram temple that is beautifully decorated with a beautiful pile of flowers of seven concentric layers. These flowers include seasonal and the ones with medicinal values as well.

Preparation of a Bathukamma is a folk art. All this brings us to the heart of the festival. The traditional music along with folklore goes life to the streets with live performances.
