Driving from Uniondale towards The Langkloof (Avontuur) on the R339. Uniondale is small town in the Karoo. The Langkloof (or Long Valley) is a stretch of land known for fruit orchards.The R339 links Uniondale to The Langkloof, but the road is locally known as "Die Poort" (or The Gateway).

Did you see the Boer War Fort on the top of the hill as we were leaving Uniondale? Did you see the monument in the pass?
