It’s actually been about 2 years since Air Greenland received its one and only Airbus A330-800. The jet was delivered to the airline on December 7th, 2022, and is just one of a handful of A330-800s in operation. Having been based at Greenland’s airport in Kangerlussuaq up until the opening of Nuuk airport, the jet had primarily been flying to Copenhagen.
And so, it was in late November 2024 that Greenland’s Nuuk airport finally opened with its new large runway - providing the capital city with better air connectivity. Simple Flying’s very own Lead US Journalist Jonathan Hendry was onboard the inaugural flight from Copenhagen to Nuuk and shared his experience in detail. This video will go over Jonathan’s experience on the only commercial Airbus A330-800 based in the northern hemisphere!
