But for some people, including many of nation's veterans, fireworks and celebratory gunshots can be potential trigger.
1 in 3 veterans in the United States live with post-traumatic stress disorder and the sounds of fireworks can sometimes be the thing that triggers them.
New Year's Eve is celebrated everywhere in the world.
But for military veterans like Tiffani Hollis, who is an active duty Army veteran, the sound of fireworks is not how she wants to celebrate.
