Hey there, Bachelor Pad fans. I'm Jager Weatherby from Wetpaint Entertainment, here with an impossible mission — picking Bachelor Pad Season 1's most trashtastic moments without just replaying the entire season. The whole thing was pretty much a non-stop OMG fest, but a few spectacularly bad things do stand out. Let's review.
Bachelor Pad is known for its twisted challenges, and we don't mean Twister. That one was tame. The cast was certainly asked to do a lot worse and we're gonna start with the kissing contest. In theory it's not such a bad idea to smooch a bunch of hot people, but a creep factor sets in when contestants are trotted out blindfolded and kissed one at a time — often with tongue — then asked to vote which one was best. Gia Allemand made one of her many unwise Bachelor Pad decisions this week by backing out tearfully halfway through the competition. The whole thing was just gross and even bad boy Wes Hayden was turned off by the germs.
Our second trashtastic moment isn't from a disease-spreading challenge, thank God — it has to do with good old-fashioned trash-talk. Our girl Tenley Molzahn heard a rumor that Michelle "Cries-a-Lot" Kujawa had hooked up with bunkmate Craig "The Hair" McKinnon, and she started spreading it around the Pad. Instead of confronting Tenley on camera, Michelle trapped her in the bathroom to try to get the lowdown. Tenley didn't want a piece of Crazy Michelle, especially locked in a bathroom, and said she didn't feel safe. She ran off and sobbed dramatically to her Pad-mates, who sided with her over Michelle. That's what happens when you get yourself a crazy reputation on The Bachelor, it follows you even when you didn't do anything wrong. Sorry, Michelle.
Unfortunately our third trashtastic moment is back in gross challenge territory. You guessed it, it's the dreaded pie eating contest. By all accounts, that pie was nasty. And they had to eat it all. The women really went for the challenge, throwing up many times along the way while the guys just watched in disgust. Our girl Tenley put forth a great effort, and according to Jesse Kovacs, she vomited into her pie but kept right on eating. It's a shame she had to lose to Gia. But it's really a shame anyone had to go through that at all... nevermind watch from home.
But our biggest trashtastic moment from Bachelor Pad Season 1 is the most horrible idea the show has had in a very long time — the surveys. Each contestant was asked to answer very personal and downright cruel questions about the other people in the house. Natalie Getz had no problem with being voted the Dumbest — although she lost to Gwen Gioia — but she was crushed at being seen as Most Likely to Be a Bridesmaid But Never a Bride. The most damaging category was "Worst Boob Job," which went to Elizabeth Kitt. All the women sobbed in humiliation after the survey, which was much meaner to the girls than the guys. Hmmm... sexism on TV. Imagine that?
