This is my Air Tight Suburban Manufacturing wood burning insert. By definition this is a Smoke Dragon. This was a gift from my father 2006 and has been through three houses with me.
After watching the flame and heat roll up the chimney I knew this was a wasteful stove. I started looking at new EPA stoves soon discovered NONE of the new inserts have an ash pan. I want my ash pan! I did some research and forum searching and decided I could put together my own secondary burn setup to salvage some heat. This is what I came up with, built with parts from Lowes and Tractor Supply.
